-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10:44a - wow wow... time is fast... soon ill be away... back in san jose... and school will start soon... fuck... ill write somemore about the vacation when im back... but i doubt u will want to read it... How did it start? Well I don't know. I just feel the craving. I see the flesh, And it smells fresh, And it's just there for the taking. These little girls, They make me feel, So God damned accelerated. I feel them up, I can't give it up, But they know I'm just reason I tell my lies, And despise every second I'm with you. So I run away and you still stay, So what the FUCK is with you? Your feelings I can't help but rape them. I'm sorry I don't feel the same. My heart inside is constantly hating. I'm sorry I just throw you away. current mood: blank current music: Korn - Trash 2:31p - Weird Stuff Time! You are capable of making accurate decisions, and being in control. You handle situations well, although you're very agressive in the sack. thats actually quite the opposite... Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest...Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over it if that trust is ever broken. btw... still in la... current music: Korn - Trash 8:42p - Back!!! 'tis is this gay... romeo and juliet... ACT II, SCENE 2 Summary After his friends leave, Romeo approaches the house and waits near Juliet's window. She appears and looks up at the stars. He compares her to the sun with more radiance than the moon that lights up the garden. The Moon is an emblem of Diana, the chaste, cold goddess. Romeo begs Juliet not to be Diana's follower, but to be free to marry him. He waits for Juliet to say something. Her lips move only in sighs. He moves his attention to her eyes and wonders what would happen in the heavens if her beautiful eyes became stars. Unaware of his presence, Juliet speaks a soliloquy in which she utters his name, wishes that he were not a Montague, and professes her love. She says that "A man's name means nothing - It is himself that counts, not his physical appurtenances, but his soul....A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." In exchange for the rejection of his name, Juliet offers herself. Romeo cannot contain himself and comes out into the moonlight. He declares that he will no longer be Romeo in order to win her. She is startled by his voice until she recognizes him. She asks him how he got into the garden and remarks that it would be death for him if he is discovered. Romeo answers that he would rather face death than live without her love. Juliet suddenly realizes that she has betrayed her modesty by speaking aloud, revealing her love for him, and being overheard. She feels herself blushing and is glad that the night hides her embarrassment. She tells him that her behavior was not right and says that she will not be taken for a frivolous girl. Romeo is willing to swear by the moon, by his soul, and by Juliet herself that he loves her truly. She forbids all swearing. She tells him to wait until the bud of his love blooms into a flower and bids him good night, but Romeo will not let her go until they have formally pledged themselves to each other and exchanged vows. At this point, the Nurse calls Juliet. Before going inside for the night, she returns to the window and tells Romeo that she will send a messenger to him the next morning. The messenger will tell Romeo where and when the couple can be married, so that she can follow him, her lord, throughout the world. Juliet then retires. Romeo, left alone and unable to sleep, announces his decision to go at once to his confessor to arrange for the marriage. Day is breaking as Romeo departs. Notes This famous scene, known as the Balcony Scene, is one of Shakespeare's most beautiful and lyrical. Its airiness, its poetic flights of imagination, its love passages, and its lingering delays of parting make it a charming scene filled with emotional impact. The beauty of the night, with the moon casting its silvery rays, adds to the romantic nature of the scene and seems to light up what is happening on stage. When Juliet opens the window, Romeo bursts into exquisite poetry. He compares Juliet to the sun. Her very presence transports him into a world of rapture. He watches as her lips move in sighs. He feels that she is about to speak and knows he will feel like a mortal listening to an angel in heaven. Then, she utters his name and wishes that he were not part of the enemy family. After hearing Juliet's words, Romeo comes out of hiding and announces his presence to her. Juliet is at first alarmed at his sudden appearance. When she realizes who it is, she tells Romeo that if any Capulet knew of his presence in her garden, they would murder him. Romeo replies, "There lies more peril in thine eye than twenty of their swords." Both confess their love for one another, Romeo swearing his love by the moon. Juliet warns him against swearing by the inconstant moon that monthly changes in its circled orb, lest his love should prove likewise variable. The lovers pledge themselves to each other and exchange vows. The Nurse, who calls for Juliet to come inside from the balcony, interrupts their second meeting. After briefly going inside to answer the Nurse, Juliet returns to the balcony and Romeo. Their parting is portrayed in extremely poetic words as Romeo bids her farewell: "Goodnight, goodnight! Parting is such sweet sorrow/That I shall say good night till it be morrow." Romeo's passion for Juliet seems fathomless." The lyrical beauty of this love scene is unsurpassed in literature. The young lovers forget the conflicts of their families and unite in love. Romeo sheds his image as a lovesick and sentimental youth and expresses his devotion to Juliet with simplicity and intensity. Juliet also reveals that she has developed from a young girl of fourteen into womanhood. She plans to arrange the time and place of their marriage and communicate them to Romeo through a messenger. Romeo decides to go to Friar Lawrence, his confessor, to reveal the plans for their marriage. The imagery of light and darkness are very important to the play and particularly to this scene. When Romeo felt he was in love with Rosaline, his mood was dark and gloomy because she was cold like the moon and similar to the goddess, Diana in her aloofness. Now in the darkness of night, lighted only by the moon, Romeo feels happy and bright. He has found true love in Juliet, who he compares to the sun in her radiance and warmth. He also compares her to a bright angel, once again developing the religious comparison begun during their first meeting. The perfection of the scene is only tainted by the fears of the two young lovers. Romeo fears that the strife of their family will stand in the way of their love, and Juliet fears for Romeo's life, knowing that if he is discovered in the garden by a Capulet, he will be murdered. Both also seem to know that their love is too intense and too sudden, almost foreshadowing that the perfection of their feelings cannot continue. current mood: drunk current music: Korn - Somebody Someone Wednesday, December 11th, 2002 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6:45p - Oh Fuck Shit... ACT II, SCENE 1 Summary Deserting his friends, Romeo disappears into the darkness. He heads back to the gardens of the Capulets and climbs over the stone wall in order to be near his new found love and in hopes of having a glimpse of her. Benvolio and Mercutio, unaware of what has transpired between Romeo and Juliet, call out to Romeo and seek to find their friend, who hides from them. Benvolio, knowing that Romeo likes his solitude, persuades Mercutio to stop the search, and they leave the stage together. Notes This scene serves as an interlude between the first and second meetings of Romeo and Juliet and reveals the intensity of Romeo's passion. He is highly excited but troubled after his first meeting with his new love; but he desperately wants to see her again. As a result, he climbs over the garden wall, hides behind a tree, and hopes to see Juliet. His two friends Mercutio and Benvolio are unaware of Romeo's change of heart. Mercutio thinks that Romeo is still inspired by the thought of Rosaline. He once again ridicules love, attempts to make rhymes, laughs at Rosaline's virtues, and nicknames Cupid as an old man. Benvolio stops him, fearing that he will offend his cousin Romeo, and insists that they go home. Mercutio finally consents to leave, because the night has grown too cold for him. The pureness and intensity of the love between Romeo and Juliet are intensified by contrast to Mercutio's ribald taunting about Rosaline. The irony is that Romeo has forsaken Rosaline for Juliet, and his friends are unaware of his changed feelings You came into my life Without a single thing I gave to your waste which gave me nothing I give an inch of smile I'm down with all you games What's the matter now I hadn't let you win Would you get the fuck out of my face! I'm falling in free flight like a wingless angel The building passes behind me level by level The cold air brings back memories in my mind And I can suddenly see so clearly a different place and time I used to be young and careless with nothing to fear I had a perfect girl and a future that was so clear She was the only one in this world that could ever reach me The only love in a life of hatred and insanity Then that fateful night when it was all taken away When I came home at the end of a cold winter's day To find the passion of my life lying on the ground in front of me My life seemed to stop and propel into reality The rage once forgotten filled my mind again The insanity in my life caught up with me in the end Her dark blood coursed through my fingertips as I held her in my arms The sounds of people around me seemed so distant and far I glared with pure hatred, why couldn't they see? She was the only one that ever believed in me So I lashed out, purpose and will all left behind And I pounded on him till his blood entangled in mine I kicked and attacked till no more breath came Fury rivaling the rage of an animal caged I was oblivious to the pool of blood that covered the floor Only eager to satisfy my fury and let it continue to pour I then felt a cold surface and pulled it out of it's holster And pulled the trigger with as much strength as I could muster I screamed and cried as it blazed again and again Bodies falling one by one to the ground dead As I'm falling I'm finally free of resentment It's getting closer now, the sight of cold pavement So please hold on baby girl of mine We will be together again in just a few moments time funny... its a suicide one... current mood: happy 8:33p - what is ur phobia!? what is ur phobia? ACT I, SCENE 4 Summary Benvolio, in rounding up his party of masked guests to attend the dance, has included a new character in the group--Mercutio, known for his wit and love of adventure. The guests are accompanied by torchbearers to light the way and drummers to announce their coming. The maskers are expected to announce their presence with a short speech, after which the host would welcome them and invite them to participate in the dance. Romeo is worried about making a speech and being discovered. Benvolio, however, dismisses the idea, adding that they will dance awhile and then leave. Romeo says that he wants to enter as a torchbearer, for he only wants to look on. Mercutio insists that he must dance, but Romeo declares that his soul is too heavy for dancing. He says that he has been too sorely wounded by Cupid's arrow to soar high. Mercutio grows impatient with his friend, but he prefers jesting and exchanges puns with Romeo. Romeo tells him of a dream in which he was warned of death if he goes to the dance. Mercutio ridicules dreams and their interpretations. Benvolio is annoyed over the delay caused by his friends. He orders the drummers to beat the drums and announce their arrival at the party. Romeo joins in the festivities, but his mind is not at ease. Notes This scene introduces Mercutio. He is a contrast to the moody Romeo in his wit and excitement. He has been included in Capulet's list of guests since he is not a Montague; but he is a friend of Benvolio and Romeo, both Montagues. He prefers to accompany them as a masker, for it gives him an opportunity to display his wit and enjoy the fun. Mercutio directs his wit at Romeo, trying to laugh him out of his moodiness. While coaxing Romeo to enter the Capulet's ball, Mercutio delivers the famous Queen Mab speech. This speech does not appear to have any bearing upon the development of the play; but it is a superb piece of poetic wit describing the occupations of Queen Mab, a mischievous "fairy- midwife", an ironic juxtaposition of words. Fairies are lovely, delicate creatures, while midwifes are usually old and haggard beings that deal with the pain and blood of childbirth. Through the speech, Mercutio is trying to show Romeo just how fanciful and unrealistic is his love for Rosaline. Dramatically, it lengthens the suspense of the audience. Finally, Romeo is persuaded to enter Capulet's house in the hope of meeting Rosaline. He, however, has no desire to take part in the dance, for he is in a love-lorn state. His moodiness has made him subject to bad dreams, and he feels that some evil, some untimely death may befall him if he goes to the ball. Thus, this scene foreshadows the future tragedy of the play through the fears of Romeo. The suggestion of doom in the scene is in sharp contrast to the playful mood created by Mercutio. Benvolio's impatience at Romeo's hesitation to enter the ball is revealed. He is anxious to put his plan for Romeo to the test; Romeo must participate in the ball in order to see the other beauties and forget his love for Rosaline. At the end of the scene, Benvolio gives quick orders to the drummer to lead the way to the party. Romeo follows. ACT I, SCENE 5 Summary This scene, with its dancing, gaiety, and colorful costumes, presents a cheerful and happy atmosphere. It is filled with music and lovemaking. Lord Capulet welcomes the maskers and invites them to dance. He is nostalgic about his good old days, when he himself had danced in a mask. He laments that his dancing days are over. In the meantime, Paris has made Juliet his partner in the dance. Unable to secure Rosaline, Romeo stands aloof, watching the dancers. His eye suddenly catches sight of Juliet and he is a changed man. He asks a servant who she is, but the servant does not know. Then, Romeo breaking out in lyrical poetry, remarks aloud to some of the bystanders that she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, and that other ladies are "crows" in comparison with such a "snowy dove". He adds that as soon as Paris releases her, he will seek her out. Tybalt overhears Romeo and recognizes his voice. He angrily calls for his rapier to kill Romeo. His uncle inquires as to the cause of his excitement. Tybalt tells him that Romeo has purposely joined the party to insult them. Capulet defends Romeo, commenting on his gentlemanly bearing. He orders Tybalt to control himself and act like a gentleman. He would not like Romeo to be insulted in his house. When Tybalt ignores the request, Capulet threatens to disinherit him. The guests gather around them. Capulet, in broken speech, urges them to carry on with the dance and orders Tybalt to leave the party. Tybalt goes out grumbling and vows that he will avenge his insult. While the quarrel between Capulet and Tybalt goes on, Romeo approaches Juliet. In a formal sonnet, each courteously and graciously accepts the devotion of the other. In the first quartet, Romeo, taking Juliet's hand, declares himself a "pilgrim from the holy land, seeking to kiss the hand of his saint in adoration." Juliet reminds him that pilgrims are content to clasp the hand instead of kissing it. The third quartet expresses Romeo's desire to kiss her lips and her objection to it. In the closing couplet, he accepts her decision not to return his kiss and kisses her instead. Lady Capulet and the Nurse have been watching this incident with alarm. The Nurse is sent to summon Juliet to her mother. Juliet leaves, and Romeo asks the Nurse who Juliet's mother is. When he learns she is a Capulet, he is shocked at the thought that he owes his life's happiness to an enemy family. Benvolio now instructs the maskers to leave. Capulet begs them to wait for the refreshments, but they will not stay any longer. Capulet bids them good night and retires to his room. The stage is left almost empty. Only the Nurse and Juliet are left. Juliet is eager to know who her admirer is. The Nurse is startled when Juliet tells her that she will die unwed if she does not marry him. The Nurse reveals Romeo's name and the fact that he is a Montague. Juliet laments that this is an ominous indication of what lies before her. Notes This is a spectacular scene filled with irony and contrast and begins the love story of Romeo and Juliet. The attention of the audience is divided during the party between the reminiscences of the two old Capulets and the youthful and rapt figure of Romeo, who is watching Juliet. Romeo's first appraisal of Juliet's beauty is rich in images. Hers is a "beauty rich for use, for earth too dear!" These words contain dramatic irony since Juliet's beauty is too rich for use in the sense that it will be laid in the tomb too early. Romeo moves towards his new love against the discordant hate and rage of her cousin, Tybalt. When he sees Romeo, Tybalt rushes from the room, threatening to convert seeming sweet to bitter gall. The lovers meet and salute each other in a sonnet full of conceits and quibbles on the religion of love. Both are drawn to each other, but in public they must disguise their feelings. The real strength of their feelings and the irony of their backgrounds is later expressed when Romeo says, "O dear account! my life is my foe's debt", and in Juliet's paradox, "My only love, sprung from my only hate." Both young people realize the seriousness of their love and the problems it can cause. The ball scene shows Capulet as a gracious and thoughtful host, doing everything in his power to make his party a success. He is solicitous of his guests, personally welcomes the maskers, jests with the ladies, and suppresses the antagonism of Tybalt. He gossips with his relative over old times and reveals that he was a happy youth, fond of masquerading and whispering tales into ladies ears to win their favor. He sternly handles Tybalt's anger, at first trying to calm him, then threatening to disinherit him, and finally ordering him to leave the house. He refuses to have anyone, including a Montague, insulted in his home, and he also remembers the Prince's warning about keeping the peace. Lord Capulet also notes that Romeo appears to be a gentleman with good behavior and virtue, who is respected throughout Verona. He is obviously not aware of what has transpired between Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt is introduced as an aggressive, angry young man. Romeo's presence at the ball rouses him to such anger that he calls for his sword in order to kill him. He thinks that Romeo has crashed the party in order to scorn the Capulets. Instead, Romeo, in dramatic irony, has fallen headlong in the love with Juliet, a supposed enemy of the Capulet family. The Nurse reveals her impatience when she spies Juliet being kissed by Romeo and orders her to go at once to her mother. She is also horrified to learn that Juliet's admirer is a Montague and is even more startled when Juliet tells her that she will die unwed if she does not marry this young man. The scene masterfully contrasts age and experience (the old Capulets) with youth and inexperience (Romeo and Juliet). It also contrasts extreme hatred (Tybalt) with passionate love (Romeo). Finally, it contrasts Romeo's earlier immature feelings towards Rosaline with his much deeper feelings toward Juliet that he describes in religious terminology (pilgrims, saints, and shrines). The scene is also filled with irony. Benvolio's plan for Romeo to forget Rosaline works too well, for Romeo ironically falls head over heels in love with Juliet, a member of the enemy family. Juliet attends the party to seek out Paris, and Romeo attends to see Rosaline; ironically, neither Rosaline nor Paris is of interest to the couple after they meet one another. The Nurse also speaks in exquisite irony when she tells Juliet that "the strangers are all gone". Capulet informs his wife of Paris' proposal for Juliet and instructs her to prepare Juliet accordingly. Lady Capulet goes off to find her daughter. The Nurse calls for Juliet at the top of her voice. As Juliet enters, Lady Capulet tells her that at age fourteen she is now old enough to marry. The Nurse interrupts and swears that Juliet will not be fourteen until August 1st, two weeks in future. Juliet then answers her mother by saying that she has not thought of marriage. Her mother, in turn, instructs her to start thinking seriously about it, adding that many "ladies of esteem" in Verona were already mothers at her age. Next, she informs Juliet about Paris' interest in marrying her. Lady Capulet also states her approval of this young nobleman of rank and wealth. Juliet replies that she will try to like Paris in order to win her mother's approval. A servant enters and announces the arrival of the guests for the party. Lady Capulet bids Juliet to go at once to meet Count Paris. Notes This scene introduces Juliet as a seemingly innocent, submissive girl. First, the audience hears her parents talking about her; much like Romeo was discussed in the first scene before he was seen. Then, Juliet appears on the stage for the first time, a picture of beauty and politeness. Her youth is emphasized once again, with the nurse pointing out that she will not turn fourteen for another two weeks; Lady Capulet counters her youth by saying many young ladies of her age are already mothers. When her mother tells Juliet she should begin thinking about marriage, specifically to Count Paris, Juliet seems obedient. She says she will try to like him. If she were totally obedient and docile, however, she would willingly accept the marriage as a final arrangement with no thought or input. She does not give her full consent. Shakespeare is foreshadowing the rebelliousness in Juliet's character that will clearly emerge when she marries Romeo, a Montague, without her parent's knowledge or approval. The idea of marriage is completely foreign to Juliet. Totally pure and innocent, she has never even been in love. The Nurse, however, is not so innocent, and, as always, speaks what is on her mind. She tells Juliet she would jump at the chance to go to bed with handsome Paris. Love and sex are one in the same to her, and she expresses that feeling clearly. Although she is often vulgar in her language, she never intends to be offensive; she only suffers from speaking before thinking, and her words are often very humorous. As a result, the down-to-earth Nurse, who genuinely cares for her charge Juliet, is truly one of the most clever and bawdy of all of Shakespeare's characters. She delights the audience throughout the play and serves as a comic relief and contrast to the intense tragedy. The audience also learns more about Paris and Lady Capulet in this Scene. She is still a young woman; probably not even thirty years of age, since young ladies tended to marry in their early teens. Her marriage, obviously arranged by her family and not by love, was to a much older gentleman. It is not surprising, therefore, that she finds Count Paris a very suitable match for her lovely young daughter. He is handsome, wealthy, and noble of birth; he is also young in age (if not in actions). It is no wonder that she encourages Juliet to go and find this gentleman at the feast. blah... i hate all this... i had a lot to write... but i forgot what to write current mood: chipper current music: Korn - Here to Stay 10:28p - tag ur it... ti ru gat You have just entered room "tag your it." ACT I, SCENE 2 Paris, a young nobleman and kinsman of the Prince, asks Lord Capulet for Juliet's hand in marriage. At first the father tells Paris that his daughter, at age fourteen, is too young, but later agrees to the marriage if the idea pleases Juliet. He advises Paris to woo her and win her love. Capulet then invites Paris to a feast that he is hosting the same night (the same Sunday that the brawl took place earlier). Juliet, as well as all the Capulet beauties of Verona, will be present. Capulet then sends his servant off with a list of the guests to invite to the party. The servant goes out to accomplish his task, but he is illiterate and cannot read the list of names. When he sees Romeo and Benvolio, the servant asks them to read the list to him. It includes Rosaline's name; Romeo's supposed lady love. Romeo and Benvolio then find out where the party is to be held and decide to attend since it is a masked affair. Romeo, of course, hopes to see Rosaline there. Benvolio hopes that Romeo will see another beauty, who will take his friend's mind off Rosaline. Notes In this brief scene, the audience learns more about Juliet, the heroine of the play who has not yet been introduced on the stage. She is young girl of fourteen and obviously Capulet's pride and joy. The father says of Juliet that "the earth has swallowed all hopes but she." When Paris asks Capulet for her hand in marriage, he hesitates at first; then he says that he will agree if the idea pleases Juliet. In the thirteenth century, when noble marriages were usually arranged by the family, it is a loving father who wants to please his child. His concern for Juliet is similar to the concern for Romeo revealed by Lady Montague in the first scene. Even though these families hate one another, they dearly love their children. Paris is introduced for the time in this scene. He is formal and peaceful, following all the rules as he consults Capulet about his interest in marrying Juliet. Unlike Romeo's infatuation with Rosaline, Paris's attraction to Juliet seems low-keyed and practical. His protocol in approaching Juliet with the father's permission is in sharp contrast to Romeo's later approach to Juliet, first as a masked party crasher and then as an impassioned lover in the garden. The role of fate will be very important throughout the play, and fate begins to work in this chapter. The illiterate Capulet servant just happens to see Romeo and Benvolio and asks them to read the list of guests invited to the Capulet feast. If he had not been illiterate and needed the help of a Montague, he never would have spoken to Romeo. If this meeting had not taken place, Romeo would never have known of the party. If Rosaline's name had not been on the guest list, Romeo would have had no interest in attending the party. If it had not been a masked affair, Romeo would never have been able to go into the home of the Capulets. If he had not been at the party, Romeo would not have met Juliet and fallen in love with her. Fate is obviously pulling Romeo and Juliet together. bleh... oh well... i need a new haircut... my hair is down to my eyebrows... oh yes... and i am going to learn flash all over again and make a animation about ben kung... blah current mood: cranky current music: Korn - Somebody Someone 10:42p - damn this people... if you are going to read this... at least let me know ur reading this... comments... add them... it will make me happier to be writing in this crap... ACT I, SCENE 1 Summary Act I begins with the servants of the two households carrying on the enmity of their masters. Samson and Gregory, the Capulet servants, and Abraham and Balthazar, the Montague servants, start a sword fight in a public square in Verona for no real purpose. Benvolio, a nephew of the Montagues and also a good friend and cousin to Romeo, intervenes and stops the fight. Then Tybalt, a Capulet, arrives on the scene. When he notices a sword in Benvolio's hand, Tybalt challenges him to a duel. When the former refuses, Tybalt declares that he hates all the Montagues. A crowd, which has gathered, now starts fighting with each other. Hearing the noise, the heads of both the families, accompanied by their wives, arrive on the scene. So does Prince Escalus, who angrily orders the crowd to throw down their weapons and stop the fighting. The Prince accuses the lords of the two families for being the cause of such outbreaks and warns, "If ever you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay forfeit of the peace," words that foreshadow the climax of the play. Lord Capulet and Lord Montague do not pay with their own lives, but their children die as an indirect result of the age-old conflict. Lady Montague, happy that Romeo has not been a part of the brawl, asks Benvolio about her son's whereabouts. Benvolio answers that he has seen Romeo sighing and weeping earlier in the morning and feels that he definitely has some serious problems. As Benvolio speaks, Romeo approaches them. When questioned about his behavior, Romeo discloses that he is in love with a woman who does not love him. The young romantic then goes on to describe his love for the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Unfortunately, she seems to have the mind of the goddess Diana, scorning love and swearing to remain single. Benvolio suggests that Romeo forget the girl, but Romeo states he cannot. Notes The first scene begins with unimportant characters, but it is lively and immediately captures the attention of the audience. Servants in brightly colored Renaissance dress begin fighting, and the stage is suddenly filled with action and the sounds of striking swords. The purpose of the street brawl is to visibly show the animosity that exists between the house of the Capulets and the house of the Montagues, not just at the highest levels, but all the way down to the servants who are fighting. More important characters soon begin to arrive on stage. Benvolio, a Montegue, comes in as a peacemaker and tries to stop the fighting. Tybalt, a Capulet, enters with temper flaring and challenges Benvolio to a fight. Lord Capulet and Lord Montague arrive and are ready to enter the brawl if necessary in spite of their advanced age and nobility. This is no ordinary quarrel, but a long-standing feud based on familial history and bitter hatred. The Prince of Verona, Escalus, knows the conflict has greatly affected his fine city and wants it stopped. When he hears the noise of the fighting, he comes on the scene and threatens punishment if peace is not reached. Romeo has not taken part in the brawl, but wanders on the stage after the fighting has ceased. He is a handsome, idealistic, and romantic youth who is in love. He tells Benvolio of his deep feelings for a beautiful young lady (later identified as Rosaline). He seems to worship her, but it is from afar, for she is aloof and does not return his love. As a result, Romeo moons about, feeling very melancholy. Shakespeare places this scene at the beginning of the play in order to show the romantic character of his hero; the scene will also be contrasted later in the play when Romeo reacts to Juliet in a very different manner. He thinks he loves Rosaline; he truly loves Juliet. i shall post notes on this blurty everytime we go into a new section in Romeo and Juliet... blah current mood: pessimistic current music: DDR music Monday, December 2nd, 2002 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5:53p - gaaa.... i hate this... school sucks... life sucks... homework sucks... gaaaa... everything sucks... the new rikku in ffx-2 looks... different... i hate romeo and juliet... how stupid... i watched the godfather... funny movie.. i guess this entry is a ffx-2 happy day... ![]() ![]() DeltaMarine2 (6:48:21 PM): dude thas a bikini DeltaMarine2 (6:48:25 PM): wiht a thong bottom DeltaMarine2 (6:51:46 PM): rikku is shaved AzNxReTaRdBoI (6:51:53 PM): haha DeltaMarine2 (6:51:54 PM): she doesnt haev any hair down below AzNxReTaRdBoI (6:52:00 PM): how would u know?
