i also had a dream last night. but i completely forgot it. just to remind myself in the future that i am capable of dreams even when i am completely acidified. i need to inhale something alkaline. make salt water. and become a marine fish.

i was trying to clean a fish tank that i picked off the ground in the dump that the biology department left behind. so i used concentrated glacial acetic acid that i can find in the lab. too bad it was quite strong and now my face is burned off. not really. only my throat. killed all my mucosal cells, so my mucosal escalator can escalate no more. particles and evil float in the air and enter my lungs. and now i probably have an infection. i'm dying. it is cold. and people are getting sick. and my fish tank is still not clean. hard mineral deposits. sigh.

piranhas are the scariest things ever. they go around and they rip things to pieces. there's a video on youtube with piranha's getting fed a frog. and they rip it to pieces, and the frog is still trying to swim. it's missing it's front leg and all of its internal organs, but it is trying to swim. so sad. piranhas are evil.

invasive species in my fish tank. ramshorn snails and some other random snail decided to infest waters. roommate thought it would be cool to buy this aquatic plant with snails, because the snails would be cool. so yea, snails clean algae and all that. so bought. and they multiply quite fast. much faster than guppies. so now there are many. read about fears of flukes and stuff. bad bad for fish and me. so decided to quarantine snails for a month, so flukes can't complete lifecycle and they can go die. so set up a trap two nights ago with cucumber like it is always suggested. didn't work. easier to just stick hand in there and catch them one by one. too bad by the time i get some out, they already reproduced and made more. it will never end. but it is okay.

i also got a new tank. 10 gallon. because the biology bitches that used to be in the 2nd floor of classroom building left to go to their new building. so they left everything (dead pigs, fish tanks) there for chemistry and math to clean up. math is too small to do anything, so chemistry is slowly cleaning up. saw a fish tank about a week ago and have been eyeing it. so waited until everyone left and i went and took the tank. i am very happy. too bad i need to clean off all the mineral deposits and stuff. that is annoying. but free tank is good. anything free is good.

this morning i finished watching "ghost in the shell" anime. it was interesting, i guess. but the ending was confusing. i had no idea what was going on throughout most of the show, especially the ending. it's cool that they have the stand alone complex stuff, with stand alone episodes and complex episodes that are part of a main story. but it really doesn't make sense when it is broken up. i watched it because tachikoma think tanks were the coolest machines ever. too bad halfway through the show, they got sent back to the factory. i was hoping they would come back. and they did in the 2nd to last episode or whatever, it was sad. that was all. it seems that every anime has a bad ending. at least from what i've seen. cowboy bebop, evangelion, ghost in the shell. all old animes with not so great endings. so now all the new animes are preventing that from happening! just make animes that never end. like pokemon, naruto, bleach, and others. something like that.

laundry list. just do laundry. stick things in the washer. then move to dryer. there's no list! why is it called a laundry list? there's nothing to list. detergent, maybe bleach, clothes? thats about it! so even if there was a laundry list, it would be really short. not a long list. unless every piece of clothing was numbered.

i said i'm going to stop writing about dead people, so now i have nothing to talk about. it is good to have a theme for this blog, i guess. it has been pretty messy up until now. the first couple of years of this blog was just irritation at school. and then it turned to irritation at another school. huh. i guess that is the theme. too bad i gave up, so that is not interesting anymore. sometimes i talk about computers and stuff. i also talk about chemistry and biology and science-y stuff. but i don't really have any time to keep up with computers anymore. it's not my major, so eh. biology and chemistry is so specific and there is a small audience, so that is bad. and i don't like that stuff anyways. so what can i write about? asian music? lol, too many people write about it. it is boring if i don't post samples and all that stuff. people won't take the time to listen to that. and i'm not wasting my bandwidth. what a waste of time.

i'm not going to write about anymore dead people. it was a suggestion to make this blog more depressing or whatever. but then i started to write it as a main entry. and it is difficult to find a day of death for every day. a lot of people die everyday, but not everyone is interesting. so no more dead people. hopefully. maybe i'll be so desperate for something to write i'll write about them. but hopefully they will be super interesting people. like gandhi. or something.

milton hershey made hershey chocolates. bought tickets to go on the titanic. then didn't go because of mrs hershey's sickness. so they lived. they made lots of chocolate for world war 2. making unmeltable chocolate for the hot climates and stuff. he retired in 1944. then he died a year after.

robert e lee died on october 12, 1870. he's the confederate general for those southerners during the civil war. but he is confusing because some think he opposed slavery. then he got a stroke and pneumonia.

apparently theres this guy named chesty puller. he died in 1971. he was a marine in world war 1, world war 2, and the korean war. he had lots of wars, so he also became the most decorated marine. i guess marines are like christmas trees.

apollo milton opeto obote, the president and prime minister of uganda, died on 10 10 2005. sounds like a collect call. he was prime minister, then president, then overthrown, then took president 9 years later. then lots of turmoil and civil war and stuff. removed from power again. and kidney failure.

things that irritate me in biology then aggravate me more in class (correct usage?). first. i dont like when they say this protein seeks this ligand or the dna or whatever. it is molecular energy that makes things attach. the binding is stability and thermodynamics. there is no seeking. it's just moving to a more stable state. it's not like proteins have eyes or minds or anything to seek. forgot all about the chemistry and physics that gave rise to this foolish field. second. i think i've already said this one, but it is when professors say "this is the reason blahblah evolved." it should be the reason blahblah survived and was selected. there is no reason in the random mutation. that is really irritating. destroys the significance of the word "reason", but i guess biologists just don't need to reason.

oskar schindler died in 1974. i think he had a pretty normal death. but a weird life. saved a lot of jewish people by buying them all up as slaves or something. he was awarded a righteous gentile award from the israel to non jews.

i had a weird dream. about pokemon. about ash, misty, brock, and pikachu. i was one of them, i don't know which. we were being chased by something. then we were at my grandparent's house, where we were attacked by snakes. then we went to the dentist, where we were attacked by snakes again. we fed a snake to a snake, so it would leave us alone. we went to at a house, where i've never been before. it had weird passageways. we were trying to steal something. then had to go pee.

kevin soohoo.

alexei savrasov was a russian landscape painter. the key word in that sentence is "was" because he died on october 8, 1897. he created and painted in the lyrical landscape style, whatever that means. his daughter died before him, so he became a professional alcoholic. he was also dissatisfied with his art. sounds like the life story of any other famous painter. so i guess he is famous now, because he is dead.

wonder. enzymes are supposed to be catalysts for reactions. they are proteins and they float around in solutions and hold ligands together. it speeds it up because it holds compound 1 for compound 2 to hit. makes sense because compounds 1 and 2 need to collide to react. reactions are slow because collision is low probability. so enzyme holds one down and speeds it up! but the problem is that enzymes are also in solution. so it also floats around. so the collision probability rate shouldn't change that much. maybe it is from electrostatic interactions of the proteins. but protein/catalyst is always in much lower amounts, so i don't think it would affect the solution. i don't understand! thoughts from miso soup.

edgar allan poe was born on some random day, and died on october 7, 1849. he was a writer and he also married his cousin. his cousin had "consumption" aka tuberculosis and died. so edgar was sad and drank lots of alcohol. he was found on the streets all sick and whatever. no one really knows what he died from. some think the alcohol. others speculate heart disease or epilepsy or syphilis (treponema pallidum!) or rabies. but the result is the same. he is dead.

anwar el sadat was assassinated, killed, and died on october 6, 1981. he was the third president of egypt. he was given the nobel peace prize with some other guy because he wrote some treaty. treaty was cool with all the egyptians, but the arabs didn't like it. so he is dead.

sorry about the lack of updates. was busy with airplanes. apparently they delay flights because of broken seatbelts. anyways, the death of the day is william h. dobelle. october 5, 2004. was a nobel prize nominee in physiology or medicine. did some stuff with EYEBALLS. also drew the original concept for the x-ray machine when he was 15. i wish i was him. he is dead. 4 years.

something that sparkles and fades.
